ORIGIN STORY
Robert was born with his small intestines outside his body, resulting in a nifty scar where his belly button should be and an excellent ice breaker for kindergarden.
He began school in Houston, TX, where he was recognized as a smart-ass and creative consultant. Boy Scouts in Troop 202 remember him as a great skit-performer and children at Lutherhill church camp loved it when he sang silly songs.
Robert attended Cypress Falls High School where he discovered Comedy Sportz High School League, Musical Theatre, and The All-Star Youth Banjo Band. Robert was briefly a part of the marching band on saxophone, but is most remembered for dancing to the drum line for the attention of the clarinets.
He enjoyed dressing in outrageous clothing whenever possible and wrote jokes into every class presentation. He was awarded a Tommy Tune Award for Best Lead Actor in a musical for his performance in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He was Cypress Falls High School's 2011 Prom King.
Robert started writing seriously his senior year and produced a sketch comedy show, leading him to pursue a BFA in Playwriting and Dramaturgy at The University of Houston. It was there that he met Sara Ornelas. She inspired him to reach bravely toward adulthood.
Robert discovered long-form improvisation with Phortasics and Flirt Reynolds. He joined The Royal Mystic Order of Chaos to perform The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He acted in university plays, improvised and directed at Comedysportz Houston, produced original shows with his fellow students, and taught improvisation at Beta Theater.
After graduating, Robert and Sara recorded an album of original music and moved to New York City. Robert is currently performing with Comedysportz NYC, and writing and performing with Levi Penley in The Cheep Show.
